Recent trip to Vegas. This was a very fun getaway, but not nearly long enough. Lost a night of our vacation package due to flight delays. Won absolutely nothing in the casinos. Ah well. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. I'm trying to get SOME kind of refund or compensation for the night we lost, but I'll be surprised if that actually happens.
Next stop: Wildwood, NJ. Already excited for our next trip (continuing on the theme of cheap vacations) ... to South Jersey! Laugh all you want, but this will be a week-long getaway, the longest vacation I've taken in years.
Weird week. This week started off great, but after a small blowup with the family yesterday, everything has been feeling a bit off. I won't bore you with the details, but it's times like this that I consider breaking off contact with my parents completely. Extreme reaction, probably. But that's the thought that goes through my head. Anyway, the whole thing has sort of soured everything else this week.
Biking season. Hoping to do a 100-mile bike ride this summer. Then again, I've been saying that for the last 2 years. I went on my third training ride this year on Saturday, blew a tire, and had to call S. to come pick me up. So far, so good!
Every once in a while, S. very casually suggests I try therapy. I tend to agree with her ... but I just don't wanna!

Stop me if you've heard this one.
Sometimes I think that, even though I'm making an effort to blog more and trying to make the posts more free flowing (read: boring), I feel like I am possibly repeating the same thoughts and ideas I have blogged about years ago.

Swing, batta batta ...
Watching my first Phils game of the year right now, and it feels pretty damn good. There's nothing quite like baseball to bring in the spring season (even if is still below 50 degrees outside, STUPID WEATHER. WAAAH!)
I've actually been working on resurrecting my Phillies Blog lately -- purely coincidence that I'm also resurrecting this blog too (unless I actually have a deep subconscious need to blog this year). Occasionally I get the sudden notion that I should have the BEST PHILLIES BLOG EVER, and it kind of disappoints me (a little) that I don't have the time or energy to make that happen. But I'm actually kind of pleased with what it is right now ... a simple site to catch up on the most interesting Phillies news ... with a little commentary mixed in, once in a while. As they say (my least favorite expression) ... it is what it is.

Ah, the sweet smell of weekend.
The weekend is coming to a close. But I have to say that, as far as weekends at home go, this is one of the best I've had in a while. We really didn't do anything out of the ordinary (I can sum it up as: takeout sushi, 127 Hours on DVD, dog walks, groceries, and Insidious at the movie theater today). But I think I've just been in an extraordinarily good mood over the last few days. If I were to guess, it's probably because my workload has been more under control this past week. But also, everything just feels a lot better right now than it did a few weeks ago. I'm not stressing as much about stupid things. I'm in a good mood.
Alas, tomorrow is Monday. I'm not looking forward to another workweek. But the good news is, we're going on a mini-vacation in only a week and a half. Can't come soon enough.

I'm on Twitter ... again. Look -->
Now you can read my tweets from my blog too! Check out the right side of this page.
This is actually my second Twitter account, but the other one is private. (More on that some other time.) Enjoy.
